Picking List App for Warehouse Staff
Can I give access to just the order picking function to a warehouse employee who should not access other functions?
Picking lists - can now be assigned to specific staff members without giving full access to the CMS, POS or product maintenance.
Use Case: You want a warehouse employee to be able to view recent orders for picking, but only see just the information they need to pack the order. Once picked, you want the ability for them to update the order status, and add any notes that may be relevant.
- Create employee as a customer/member (not POS user)
- Assign employee to a security group for this job role. (create a new group if not, suggestion "Stock Picker"
- Add new page to member menu
- Page type section: shopping add ons
- Page type: Picking List App For Staff
- Specify the security group you chose earlier
- Save
- Send password login to your employee
- Login to customer facing website
- Click "Pick Orders" or whatever the page was called from the setup
- Click a button next to any order to start picking
- Scan barcode as many times as you have quantity to select.
- Or press the Tick button, or Cross button to manually add/remove.
- A completed product line will show a green box on the quantity when the desired amount is reached.
- User can add notes or can change the order status
Example stock picker app in mobile version below, with barcode scanner
- Shows 2 items fully picked, one item in progress.
- Location and quantity large/bold for ease of use by picker
- Barcode scanner is used. In this instance plugged into android phone via USB-C adapter
- Makes happy/sad noises on success/failure of scan (or error)
- A more recent system update moves completed items to the bottom of the list. (not shown in example)
Note: This same picklist function is available in both CMS and POS areas when managing an order (for any CMS or POS user that can access orders)

If you are not using an automatic payment gateway, (e.g. manual internet banking) you may need to mark your orders as paid manually.
You can do this individually which allows you to make adjustments if needed, or you can mark many orders as paid in bulk.
If you are using a courier integration, depending on your settings - your courier company will be feeding the tracking number back into the website.
Some courier integrations will have settings allowing you to send the notification from their dashboard, or to send from the CMS.
These settings below show how to mark orders as shipped manually.
If you are only partially shipping some of an order, you can send partial shipping notifications.
If you have a collection option, this is how you can send a notification that the order is ready to collect and any collection information.
