AI Chat Bot

Do you want an AI chat bot on your website, that can communicate via text chat, voice,  telephone, and knows everything there is to know from the content of your website?

How it works

  1. The AI chat bot can optionally be given access to all the information that is publically available on your website, including products, blogs, pages etc. AI chat bots are really good at understanding the detail of your pages, and then answering customers questions with relevant information. 
  2. A conversation summary and transcript will be emailed to you for any user who engages with the chat bot. 
  3. If the user escallates the call, it will generate an extra email leting you know the person wants to be called back. You will get the transcript a bit later, when they have finished their chat... We are working with our supplier to make this more user friendly

Included Features

  • Users can type or speak any language and the chat bot will cope with 30+ popular languages.
  • Excalate any conversation to a support ticket requesting a response from a human
  • Customers can ask for the status of their order. They can get the status, eg processing or sent. And it will tell them the date it was sent if so. All they need to do is supply their order ID. It does not give out any private or sensitive information other than the status and date of sending.
  • Users can ask the bot to add a specific product to their cart
  • Users can ask the bot to navigate to a specified page, shopping cart, checkout, or login page.

Cost

There is a monthly fee for this, but it's free until March 2026. It is also free for websites on higher hosting plans.

How To Set It Up

  1. In your eCommerce plugins area, search for "chat bot" then add this plugin.  
  2. Confirm the name of your business, a few keywords about what your business does, and the locality or country of your business. 
  3. Save and the setup screen will provide more options.
  4. The prompt instructions are most important. Read these, and change them as you like. This is how you tell AI in plain english about it's job description. It's really important to tell it exactly how to do it's job. What to do, and also what not to do. 
  5. Below the prompt instructions are some buttons to add your content. You should add all the content available, and this becomes the knowledge base of the chat bot. 

Ongoing Maintenance

  1. From time to time you should come back to the setup area and tweak the settings, and refresh the knowledge base content. The knowledge base is not kept up to date automatically at this stage. We recognise the failing here, but we are reliant on our back end provider. 
  2. Review what tools you want the chat bot to have access to.
  3. Review the transcripts of all users who engage with your chat bot, or mute the notifications.
